Kyle Hughes

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Kyle was born in Marin County and raised here during the 80’s and 90’s. During his childhood through departure for UC, Kyle felt a deep sense of pride and enthusiasm in being part of a community that spoke for change, especially in the areas of equity and equal opportunity for all. Upon his return to the area in 2011, Kyle saw opportunity for the county to further it’s best intentions that he so fondly remembered being taught as a youth. Kyle is hopeful and determined to see all generations of Marin residents work together to create the true change and enrichment that our collective values in Marin stand for.

While attending UCSC, Kyle earned his BS in Molecular Biology, he was able to spend time there volunteering for Barrios Unidos in Santa Cruz. Kyle’s professional work is in Healthcare, and currently is a lead organizer for his employer’s charitable contribution efforts nationwide. His work focuses on his passion for helping others and problem solving in vital areas of his clients’ needs around wellness and health.

Kyle has been a past and current contributor to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Santa Cruz as well as the SF-Marin Food Bank. He also currently serves as a member of MVFREE, the Mill Valley Force for Racial Equity and Empowerment and is a part of the housing committee there.
