Nancy Carlston

Nancy Carlston served on Marin County’s Telehealth Equity Task Force and Mill Valley’s DEI Task Force. She is a founding member of MVFREE (Mill Valley Force for Racial Equity and Empowerment) and of Mt. Tam Community Land Trust. Her volunteer work in Marin has included as a tutor for Bridge the Gap, a member of the Community Service Advisory and the Outreach Committee of the Outdoor Art Club, and the Coordinating Committee of the Mill Valley Community Arts Coalition. She served on Mill Valley Middle School’s Site Committee and was an Elder at San Geronimo Community Presbyterian Church.
While living in Boulder, Colorado, Nancy was on Amnesty International USA’s Executive Director’s Leadership Council, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels, and served on the Boards of the Center of the American West, Mother-House, Boulder Valley YMCA and E-Town.
Her professional work was as an acquisitions editor of academic books in mathematics and psychology. She earned a BA from Cornell in English Literature and an MA from Stanford in Modern European History.
