Mark Thompson is an accomplished audit and risk management professional with over 40 years of experience across multiple industries, including banking, finance, insurance, public accounting, and public utilities. His career included senior leadership roles in the public power sector, where he spent 17 years in management. Mark continues consulting and serving on the audit committee of Florida’s State Board of Administration, an organization which oversees $270 billion in assets, including the Florida Retirement System Pension Fund.
Mark honed his expertise through formative roles with leading firms Deloitte and Price Waterhouse, and has led and managed teams that have completed over 250 audits and consulting projects, with a focus on areas such as financial services, technology, environmental operations, operational efficiencies, and compliance in both the public and nonprofit sectors.
Beyond his professional career, Mark is dedicated to community service, currently serving as Treasurer for the Crealde School of Art and as a volunteer with IDignity. He was also an active member of the Large Public Power Council chief audit executive roundtable and a past officer of the local chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
